Unique in their double-nose “rhino” design, they’re equipped with 8000 horsepower of hauling power and can pull passenger cars at speeds over one hundred miles per hour.

HHP-8 locomotives are powered by one of two pantographs housed on the rooftop, and they commonly can be seen pulling strings of Amfleet-style passenger cars, recognizable by their rounded “Amcan” shape.
